ASME SA 53 Gr.B Seamless and Erw Pipe in Sch 40 & Sch 80 thickness
ASTM A53 Grade B Erw Pipe
A53 Grade B Pipe
ASTM A53 Seamless Pipe
The ASTM A53 Grade B Schedule 40 pipe is one of the most popular pipes, made from carbon-based alloy. The elements used in the formation of the alloy are – Manganese, phosphorus, and sulphur. Additionally, elements like vanadium, copper, chrome, nickel, molybdenum, and chromium can be found in trace amounts in the ASTM A53 Grade B Schedule 80 Pipe. The amount of trace elements in the ASTM A53 Gr. B Erw Carbon Steel pipe should not be more than one percent of its total composition.
While the added alloying materials improve the mechanical properties of the ASTM A53 Gr. B Carbon Steel Pipes, it is not used in applications that involve high temperature and pressure. They are also avoided in applications that involve hydro-carbon services. Industries like Oil and gas as well as other process-based ones, use the ASTM A53 Grade B Type S Pipe for non-critical and structural applications.
Some other industries that use the ASTM A53 Gr. B Carbon Steel Pipe are generator plants, natural gas transmission, refineries, compressor stations, and steam conduction. The tensile strength of the ASTM A53 Grade B Type S Pipe is 415 Mpa and its yield strength is 240 Mpa.
The ASTM A53 Grade B Erw Pipe is available as required by the buyer. For example, A53 Gr B Erw Pipe could be manufactured without any coating or they could be hot dipped. ASTM A53 Grade B Seamless Pipe could also be galvanized or zinc coated and could be hydraulic or round formed.
The manufactured A53 Gr. B Erw pipes are available in either seamless or welded forms. A53 Gr B Type E pipes are manufactured by a continuous welding of the coil. The longitudinal joint of the pipe is welded producing heat. The heat is caused by electrical resistance between the opposite ends of the pipes.
